477 MEYER
477 Meyer Avenue combines vernacular elements of the historic Tucson Barrio Viejo with a modern, minimal aesthetic. Materiality and details of thresholds act to either articulate or understate transitions between interior and exterior, between street and house, and between public and private.
MT LEMMON SKY CENTER
The Mt. Lemmon Sky Center project connects the earth to the sky through thoughtful consideration and use of land and siting, material, scale, and light. The project's organization is derived from its siting, which offers expansive views while maintaining a minimal touch on the landscape. The Sky Center emerges from the earth with stereotomic materials, compressed dimensions and minimally lit conditions. As one proceeds through the building, the earth slopes away beneath the structure, the stereotomic dematerializes as light and the the tectonic materialize. The Sky Center terminates in a hovering condition, open to the infinite sky.
